NZ Foam was founded by Chris Haughey, who came from a building background and was focused on finding innovative ways to improve insulation for Kiwi homes. Disappointed with the current options available at the time, Chris believed New Zealand homes deserved better than simply meeting the minimum building code requirements.
One of the most common comments from homeowners living in newly built houses was, “It’s cold.”
A memorable comment from one of our clients came from their six-year-old child:
“We love living in our new home that you insulated because it’s always warm. Thanks, Chris.”
Building the Team
Rob Leach joined the company in 2013 as National Operations Manager, bringing extensive expertise in spray foam insulation and developing customised pricing programmes for NZ Foam. Together, the founders shared a vision of making spray foam insulation a mainstream choice for New Zealand homes.
Today, Rob is a shareholder and continues to drive the company’s passion for improving Kiwi homes through innovative insulation solutions.
Chris Booker, our Head Spray Foam Applicator, joined the team in 2018. Chris brings a true spirit to the company. His passion runs through the business on a daily basis, and he brings a level of talent that is hard to match.
Dawn Robinson joined NZ Foam in 2023 as Chief Financial Officer. Dawn oversees the financial side of the business, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She also has a great ability to keep Chris Haughey in line, and together they manage their respective areas effectively.
Jacob Graham became the newest addition to NZ Foam in 2024, taking responsibility for the sales and marketing portfolio. Managing marketing is no easy task, but Jacob has embraced the challenge, helping maintain a strong workflow while building positive relationships with clients. As we all know, marketing always comes with its challenges.

Filmore, the company mascot, is energetic and eager to be involved in every aspect of the business. He takes great pride in his role and helps keep Kiwis warm in winter and cool in summer whenever needed.

NZ Foam started with the bare minimum of equipment and a passion for doing things better. One of NZ Foam's early projects in Shotover, Queenstown, completed shortly after the company's establishment.
